Gerhard Zeiler, CEO of Europe’s largest commercial broadcaster RTL Group, leaves the group. He will be replaced by Guillaume de Posch and Anke Schäferkordt.

Gerhard Zeiler has been CEO of Luxembourg-based RTL Group for almost nine years and leaves the company on his own request at the annual general meeting on April 18.

He will be replaced by two co-CEOs. Guillaume de Posch, currently COO, will be responsible for activities outside Germany as well as the production business. Anke Schäferkordt will continue to manage the television channels in Germany as well as being CEO.

“I’m deeply grateful for my wonderful years at RTL Group, with a great team of passionate managers and an ever-supportive board of directors and shareholders. The decision to leave was not an easy one, but on the other hand I look forward to a new, international task. I wish RTL Group a successful next step in its unbelieveable development” syas Gerhard Zeiler in the same press release.
